台灣 阿Q 生猛海鮮風味桶麵 泡麵 Taiwan Ah Q Seafood Flavor Instant Noodles Bowl Noodles
This time tried another flavor of the Ah Q bowl noodles... The last one was a bit disappointing, but this one did a little better. The taste is very typical "seafood" but it makes up for the larger quantity of kelp seedlings and such. Quite ok, but I will still prefer the Japanese bowl noodles...

7-11 Chicken Chop in Black Pepper Sauce with Spaghetti Aglio Olio , Japanese Spicy Cheese Tamagoyaki
The Chicken Chop meal is newly introduced in 7-11... at least for the outlet at my neighbourhood... and surprisingly the chicken taste quite good. The quantity for the spaghetti is a bit too little though, but for that price, I think the main focus is the reasonably sufficient portion of proteins (a.k.a. chicken meat)... The vegetables especially the broccoli is a nice touch. The tamagoyaki is good as usual.... Lots of proteins... and probably sodium... hmmm... just go and jog more...

Hoshino Coffee 星乃珈琲店 @ Chinatown Point - ( Brunch ) Pancake & Omu Soufflé with Sausage & Bacon
Not sure why but perhaps is the sudden crave to want to try soufflé pancake, hence decided to try out Hoshino Coffee... So I had my meal at the Chinatown Point outlet today...

Nice decorations...

Menu... in the end decided to have the brunch ( available on Saturday, Sunday and Public Holidays ) instead... Ordered the Pancake & Omu Soufflé with Sausage & Bacon, and selected the Hoshino Blend Coffee, at $18.80++ (total $22.10)...

Table pager eliminates the hassle for both customers and waiter/-ress...

Coffee was served pretty fast... I trust this was still hand-dripped and not pre-prepared... Smells fragrance before adding the milk, but tasted a bit thin, perhaps I am used to thicker/stronger (arabica beans) coffee... After adding milk, the taste is still a bit thin for me, but the fragrance is good and texture turns slightly smoother. It has a very light and comfortable acidity...

And the set arrived... Portion looks sufficiently good (in the end it proved so too)...

Omu Soufflé - Very very pleasantly surprised when I took the first bite, as I have never tasted anything like this before. It was very very very good! Outside is a good textured egg layer, and the inside is soft, fluffy (not runny). The inner has a good slight savoury and strong buttery taste, the combo is excellent. The drip of tomato sauce (?) does not make drastic impact on the taste of the omelette as the omelette itself is already tasty... It is a wow for me...

Salad - This is also a surprise for me. The fried (?) mushroom is GOOOD (if you don't hate mushroom)!!!!!! The vegetables are crunchy and the 2 broccoli is cooked just well enough without the raw taste but still have slight crunch to it... The fun part is the dressing is quite nice - sourish-sweet, and the first bite weirdly reminds me of the salad in McDonald's chicken burger, don't know why, hahahaha....

Sausage - Chicken? Not sure, did not ask them, but I suspect is pork, as I felt it has a distinct pork taste. Quite good textured skin, and firm chewy meat inside... It can be a little saltish if you eat too much at 1 go, but it works pretty well if you eat it alternating with the Omu Soufflé or best, the salad. Quite good!

Bacon - 2 small pieces, perhaps price of bacon is rising... It has good chewy lean part mixed with the fatty part, and is cooked right without charred parts. And it is not the saltish type unlike the typical bacon often tasted, nice...

Soufflé (?) Pancake - I put a question mark for the "soufflé" part as I don't know if this is really a soufflé pancake... Yes, I had never eaten one before...

Very cute tiny jug containing the syrup... so cute....

Based on the videos seen online, I thought soufflé pancakes should be thick and super soft (slight wobbly when shake???)... So when I put the knife down on it to cut, I am a bit surprised to find the pancake.. well, put it this way, it not as soft / super fluffy as I expected... Maybe it is supposed to be this degree of firmness / fluffiness... anyway, the first mouth of it brings me back to the fact that it is still a "pancake", with the familiar smell and taste of pancake back. In fact, the taste is good! And strangely again, the first bite reminds me of the old-school steamed egg cake texture but with pancake taste... The 2 pieces of pancake is also sufficient in portion, feel blissfully full after the meal... Please do add the syrup and spread the whipped butter (?) and then eat the pancakes, very delicious!!!

Overall, it is a good dining experience, and I will certainly want to try out the full-fledged soufflé pancakes next time.

( ヤマダイ Yamadai ) New Touch ニュータッチ Nagoya Taiwan Mazesoba 名古屋発 台湾まぜそば
Bought this from Iroha Mart in Chinatown Point... I think it costs SGD2.90... can't really remember... but find this instant soba quite nice, so bought a couple that day. The soba has a nice chewy texture after cooked, and the overall taste is quite savoury-sweet with a tinge of spiciness. The small bits of mock (???) meat are hard to find after mixing though... Had this for lunch with some blanched kailan with teriyaki sauce (from Iroha Mart as well)...

吳寶春麥方店 Wu Pao Chun Bakery - 荔枝玫瑰麵包 Lychee Rose Royale , 酒釀桂圓麵包 Red Wine Logan

Should have taken the other half of the 酒釀桂圓麵包 Red Wine Logan (bread) too... the taste is very good!!!!!

Visited the 吳寶春麥方店 Wu Pao Chun Bakery today, at Capitol Plaza. It was raining pretty heavy, so probably the no-crowd there... I immediately looked for the 2 champion breads, and was surprised to find they are selling half-loaves. But I also realised I should have bought a whole loaf of the 酒釀桂圓麵包 Red Wine Logan, very very unique. The first thing that caught my attention is the weight of the loaf, quite heavy compared to similar-sized bread. The inner was moist, much more than what I expected (meaning when I microwave for about 15 - 20 seconds, the bread is still moist and soft, nice...) and there are plentiful of the smoked dried-longan and nuts (walnut I think?), and there really is A LOT in the bread. The "wow" factor is the strong "smokiness" smell and taste, very very very unique. Combined with the elegant taste of the red-wine smoked dried longan, the bread is just very tasty ( with the nuts giving some crunching feel when chewing the bread).

The other bread 荔枝玫瑰麵包 Lychee Rose Royale is quite nice too, having a very light but elegant rose fragrance and big bits of dried (?) lychee makes this a very unique taste bread...
Having said that, the price is a bit high... SGD14+ for a half-loaf, and SGD20+ for a full loaf of bread is somewhat pricey... though the bread is pretty big and heavy, and the ingredients are A LOT... and most important the taste is good... So will I make a return-purchase? ... Well... probably yes, though not often... The bakery does also sell the smaller bread/bun and other stuff ( I bought some too, see the pictures above... ) which are not that expensive compared to this 2 types but somewhat similar priced to those in Breadtalk...
