Taiwan Noodles Haul and Testing Jhen Mian Tang Dry Noodles With Spicy Sauce 真麵堂 香辣風味乾麵

Noodles haul again from Taiwan through local agent... Actually have bought many many rounds, but did not post...

Tried this Jhen Mian Tang noodles today for brunch... The noodles shape and flavour is similar type to the Tseng Noodles that I often eat, but the price is much less, around SGD8++ promotion price. The noodles seem to be a bit softer than Tseng's or Old-Mom's, and they seem to soak up the sauce slightly slightly better than Tseng's (or maybe is the sauce can penetrate into the noodles better?).. The pepper-chilli fragrance is less prominent than Tseng's and the sauce taste a teeny bit more sweeter and gentler than Tseng's. This is a good alternative for those who prefer such tastes, and to me, this Jhen Mian tang is almost as good as Tseng's (Jhen Mian Tang's noodles are not sun-baked though..), and of course it is slightly cheaper than Tseng Noodles.

Food-Bread Shop @ Blk 213 Bedok North Street 1

Not sure what is the name fo this shop, but it is just beside the NTUC Fairprice... 1 side of the shop sells bread, and the other is a small kopitiam that sells food and drinks... with reasonable amount of variety... and not to mention some are at a low price...


This is 1 of our favourite, the fried beehoon set, that comes with a hot-dog and fried egg. The beehoon itself has some vegetables added it, texture is quite springy, and the taste is savoury good too! Best of all, it only costs $1.50 !!!! Amazing...

This is absolutely DELICIOUS!!!! Soft tender cake, with bits of fried dried radish and nice smell of fried garlic (???), and wonderful amount of egg used to stick the cakes to pieces... the fragrance is so... do try... Above is purely my own opinion and preference.. hahahaha...

KiKi Noddles - Sichuan Pepper Flavour

Bought this at SPH Buzz Convenience Store at SLS... There are only a few packets of the Sichuan Pepper flavours and only 1 packet of the Aromatic Scallion flavour left when I reach there... Liking spiy taste, I grab the Sichuan Pepper flavour.. Cost $13.70, which is cheaper than buying from ezBuy (which is selling at $18)...


The noodles are similar to the Tseng's Noodles for the Hu Sesame paste flavour - thin but chewy when cooked... very nice texture... The taste is similar to Tseng's Scallion with Sichuan Pepper, but lesser of the Sichuan pepper taste. Instead, it has the fried-dried chilli powder which adds in a different fragrance... Both are good in their way... Although I still prefer the wave-noodles, this is also very very good!!!

Little Couples Q Noodle - JaJiang 小夫妻Q麵 炸醬

Costs $8.80 from ezbuy.sg ... Tried their mock-oyster flavor earlier, and in short, very chewy noodles that need to be cooked around 1 minute more than their recommended time, else the noodles may be a bit too hard. Flavour is good, though not much of surprise. This JaJiang version's sauce is lesser in quantity and also less sweet than the typical Korean instant noodles type. Nice!
