Lucky still can make it in time.... Today is the last day of CNY... Happy Chinese New Year!!! Happy Valentine's Day!!! Happy 元宵节!!! Just finished a reunion dinner with family... for the X-th time this year, hahahaha....

Jollibee Outlet in Lucky Plaza... PART 2 !!!!

Wednesday went over to Jollibee again... and this time managed to taste the food... and I am not disappointed at all... not at all...


Went over at about 9.45am, so the crowd is not visible from outside, way different from what I encounter last time...



A sweetness smell filled up my nose immediately when I stepped into the restaurant... very unusual but nice, hahaha... I sort of figured out why this is so later, after tasting the food... The queue system is the 1 long line system, (eg. buy toto in bigger Singapore Pools shop) which I felt is a bit better system, since in the event of a jam in 1 counter, the people behind will not need to wait unnecessarily long...




The napkins used are a bit unusual too, as they are the thin type, and the paper used seemed to be the recycled paper type...



I ordered the Chickenjoy set at $6.60 (with spaghetti) consisting of a portion of spaghetti, a piece of the famous chicken, and also a drink (I chose root-beer... ) The regular fries is an add-on, costing $1.50... I first tasted the brown colour sauce (above the chicken) - has a slightly sweet taste which reminds me of the mushroom sauce in KFC's mushroom burger... It mixes well with the chicken which is veered towards the salty side (as in the chicken's taste is not the "sweet" type)...



Which one should I try first? ... Hmmm.... Think I will taste the spaghetti first... The spaghetti itself is quite well-cooked; not the Al-dante type but not overcooked... could have been better if a little more springy... but maybe this is how the spaghetti is cooked over in the Philippines... The sauce is .... UNIQUE... superbly sweet, tomato-ly sweet, with slight savoury taste... NICE!!!! Though I think Singaporeans may not like as it is more towards the sweet side, but I LIKE it... The melted pieces of cheese brings up the yummy-level in terms of smell and taste... Kid should love this... Small bits of sausages can be found...




Next, the fried chicken... The piece of chicken is GOOD!!! A very thin layer of batter/flour makes it crisp (but a bit of oily), and the meat inside is tender and JUICY!!!!! The marinate is also quite home-style, not much of the typical "factory-artificial" ones that you taste in many fast food restaurants... NICE.... A good mix when eaten together with either the brown sauce or the spaghetti, as these 2 both are sweet in nature, blends well with the savoury chicken.... Yummm....



The fries are quite good...Crispy...I can only say crispy... Perhaps is because they are just fried (quite hot when I first pick up 1...)... Taste is normal, but is good, comparatively...



Overall, it is a good dining experience in Jollibee, and I kind of crave for the sweet spaghetti sauce, hahaha.... My student also suggest can order the rice set next time, more worth as it comes with 2 pieces of chicken... Will I go again? Well, I think very very very high chance...that I will be going more than often, hahahaha...

...Still, I don't think I will go again, till it is more or less "stable" without the big machines... Will that be too long to wait??? Hmmm....

SITEX 2013 Haul....

For umpteen years I have not been to a IT/computer fair... This is my first time returning, and bought a lot of stuff...


Initially wanted to buy a AIO printer, but considering the humongous size, I decide to get a good printer instead (and maintain using my good old scanner if need)... and then realised this is not small either... anyway, cheaper than if I were to buy a AIO printer, by about $140... Cost $159, with freebies of trolley (as usual), and a humidifier...



The OTO Humidifier that came free... hmmm.... can't seem to google out any information on this thing... And why did I name this as 'dehumidifier' for the picture filename??...



Also bought a Marbella MX6 HD Digital Recorder for my car at $189... with freebies...



...freebies that come with the MX6 HD... the HDMI cable stated in the brochure is included inside the MX6 HD box...


Also bought a CoolerMaster laptop stand with cooling fan... at $28, it seems good.. until when I used it, the metal grill (on top) will make "~crang~" sounds when I type on the laptop keypad. This is due to the palms resting on the laptop and the laptop is resting on the metal grill of the holder, so got some harmless but irritating sounds...



Final thing bought is this CLIPtec 4 Port USB Hub, to replace my old spoilt one... cool blue illumination when plugged in, nice...

Bear Bites 熊の食... "Bear Paw Bun"

First time trying the bear paw bun at Bear Bites 熊の食... Not a very pleasant experience when ordering though, due to the incident at the counter where it seems to take almost all staff to deal with 1 delivery man while I stood at the counter as if I am invisible... maybe its that I look lost and the staff also not sure what I was standing there for (????) ... Until one staff ask the others whether they can take my order first... anyway... Will probably pop in there to buy again since it is quite near to Somerset MRT... and quite nice taste too, despite eating only after a long time... Too bad the milk bun ran out of stock, so I bought both brown sugar version...


I promise I will (try to) eat my (food) purchases asap and not after a long time...

1/2 Day Orchard Trip...

Went for a self-guided 1/2 Day Orchard trip... hahaha... Planned out the trip to alight at Orchard MRT station and board the return trip at Somerset MRT Station...

1st stop - Krispy Kreme. Long heard of the famous doughnuts, so decided to buy some and try... When I reach there about 10am, there is only 1 (set) of customers about to pay for their purchases, so no queue fuss for me... Bought 12 doughnuts in the end...



... of 5 different flavours... Think you know what these flavours are better than me, hahaha... The glazed doughnut is fluffy inside and the glaze makes the outside have a "crispy" feel.  The taste is ... well, typical of doughnut... not that it is not nice, but I mean it really taste like a good doughnut (I think).... hahaha... Don't like the Red Velvet version, too sweet... and the cookie-crunch version & almond version seem to have a more harder texture than the glazed version... Overall, still nice... Oh, do make a good cup of black coffee (aka kopi-o), with just a teeny bit of sugar if you desire, to go with the doughnuts, they make a wonderful combination!!!!!!

Wanted to buy the Bear-Paw buns at SCAPE too, but it was closed when I got there... sigh, next time then buy bah...

Bad Throat Infection....

Started around Mon / Tues... but gotten worse on Fri... Doctor says is some bacteria / virus, so got to take a course of anti-biotic capsules (which are super smelly, hahaha)... Seldom seldom kenna such serious thorat inflammation / infection... Small cut on hand un-noticed when buying some ice-cream for my little nephew and niece leads to large blood flow, only realised when paying at the cashier... Now I know blood when frozen looks like paint chips that are stained on the surface... Lastly, a big thank you to the 3 cashier staff who were very helpful to attend to my wound immediately, thank you very much...
