Sian Ah..........

Wah lao, sianz... in the middle of recall manning, kanna become detachment i/c... suay... sigh.... things getting tighter & tighter... lemme list out things to do in these 2 days & next week...
(1) Tonite: set exam paper
(2) Tonite: Prepare 4NT revision notes... well, almost impossible...
(3) Tomm: Call Det section pple & Det 2 i/c
(4) Tomm: Check status of 1/2 hearted student who is sick & din come to school, can't finish his project..
(5) Tomm: Check status of those who wish to drop subject.
(6) Tomm: Restore status of student who need the CCA point...
(7) Tomm: Stay till 7pm to help the kids to complete the artefact... faintz...
(8) Tomm's tomm: Stay till 1.30pm to repeat item (7)
(9) Tomm's tomm: Prepare mob manning activation (hope will not)
(10) Tomm's tomm's tomm: RT in morning, prepare mob manning activation (hope will not)
(11) Tomm's tomm's tomm: Revise safety gudelines and SOPs for Monday's Validation
(12) Next week 1st Day: Safety Validation interview
(13) Next week 1st Day: Stay back till 6pm to do kids' journals & P.boards.
(14) Next week 2nd Day: 4NT Prelim. Stay back till 4.45pm to do kids' journals & P.boards.
(15) Next week 2nd Day: RT in evening
(16) Next week 3rd Day: Stay back till 6pm to do kids' journals & P.boards.
(17) Next week 3rd Day: Mark 4NT Prelim papers at night, most likely till late...
(18) Next weel 4th Day: Stay back till 4.45pm to do kids' journals & P.boards.
(19) Next week 4th Day: RT-IPPT in evening... Yes!!!!!! RT finally over!!!!!!!
(20) Next week 4th Day: Continue mark 4NT Prelim papers at night, most likely till super late...
(21) Next week 5th Day: Stay back till 2pm to do kids' journals & P.boards... 2nd last day...
(22) Next week 6th Day: National Day!!!!!!!!!! Huat ah!!!!!!!!

ok, end of week one... don't be too happy, cos week two is coming soon... with more work.... sigh.... k, got to go & set exam paper liao....

sigh... shld I wait for my HP mini notebook to deliver to me & get $30 (but must wait till 15 Aug)? Or shld I go down on National Dy eve to collect (if still have) ?????? .... hmm... k, wait lah, since now not in hurry to use it... got my reliable Kohjinsha SH8!!!! Power little thing!!!!!

More Discoveries on My Kohjinsha SH8...

A few more things realised while playing with my Kohjinsha SH8... and solved many of the issues that have been bothering me for so long...

(1) Slow InterVideo WinDVD and volume mixer response/hang when running in battery mode

Should switch to "High Performance" power plan. All the while I have been using "Balanced" power plan when running battery, somehow the processor slows down certain programs or such over time to conserve battery life.... once switch over to "High Performance", everything works sweetly...

(2) Windows Aero

(Right-click, "Personalize" => "Window Colour and Appearance" => "Appearance").
Vista is actually able to realised that Kohjinsha SH8 is not capable of running Windows Aero (needs at least 1GHz processor speed), and sets the display to Windows Vista Basic (i.e. Aero Lite)... Initially thought that by switching to Windows Classics (non-vista) will be faster but then read that they actually slow down the system as they are using the processor to work, while Windows Aero/Vista Basic uses the graphics card to do so.... anyway did not shown any significance when I tried with both, so still stick to Vista Basic since nicer!!! ... Hence, I also choose the "Let Windows choose what's best for my computer, under the "Control Panel\Performance Information and Tools" => "Performance Options" => "Visual Effects" Tab...

(3) SH8 Windows Experience Index (Based Upon 5)

• Processor: 2.0


• Memory (RAM): 4.5


• Graphics: 3.0


• Gaming graphics: 2.5


• Primary hard disk: 4.4
  

So cannot run intensive program eg. MATLAB, cannot play graphics intensive gaming... wait a minute... I don't do need to run MATLAB etc, I don't play onlne/intensive games (only play Bejeweled 2, Minesweeper)... so good enough for me!!! Hahaha!!!!! ..... Somemore data transfer speed is good!!! Hahaha!!!!!!

(4) Full-screen Laggy Playback on Youtube
Same solution as playing any video with Windows Media Player, WinDVD, just make sure the Tablet PC Input Panel is closed (i.e. the tab edge on the side of the screen is not to be seen). If it can be seen, just open and close it once.

(5) Screen Rotation Button

Do NOT update the Display adapter (Mobile Intel(R) 945GM/GU Express Chipset Family)driver, just use Kohjinsha's one. Or at most use driver version 7.14.10.1272.... Updated once and the button ceased to work...

(6) Audio Driver

Pleae make sure "Realtek High Definition Audio" driver is installed in order to prevent the SH8 from giving out a cuper low volume... Seen some forums that some people got this problem... If you happen to be one of them, try installing the "Realtek High Definition Audio" driver and see how. Anyway, the Realtek Sound Manager allows you to slide the balance for left and right channels, so quite useful for theose VCDs / video clips with dual sound, then you can slide to select left or right channel easily....

Hope these provide some help to other Kohjinsha SH8 users!!!.... now waiting to collect another toy, my free HP mini-notebook 2133, hahahahaha!!!!

Dilema

seriously, should I just give up those who don't want to even bother to do their project, and concentrate on helping those who are pushing themselves to complete theirs? On one hand, if bo chap, the parents will come after (though they heck care in 1st place), Head will say "why har, u din do this this this first... ", principal will come after and worse, conscience will prick... but on the other hand... not fair to those who put in extra effort.... sigh... and the grey area ones... yeah, the smaller kids... some really dun wan to do... some do until stress and breakdown... regardless of reasons (CCAs, tuition, family matter, etc etc), got to drag till next week... sigh... no sense of urgency.... so... if I really make the deadline to be DEADLINE, what will be the consequences? The good: (1) kids will realised that deadlines are DEADLINES (2) Load off me shoulders so that I can concentrate on the bigger kids... N level leh, dun pray pray... The bad: serious/cannot-take-stress kids gets upset (if cannot complete) and demoralised and breakdown and ... suicidal.. etc... Head will come after, principal come after, parents come after... (2) Kids get away with it, assuming that spoonfeeding will always come, because they know the teacher cannot afford to fail them.... To feed, or not to feed?.... see beh sian ah!!!!!!!!!!! sigh... everyday reach home 8 plus, no difference from RT.... Super busy day today.... Should I still be a good guy?....

Youth Day Tomorrow

Tomorrow no school, its Youth Day, so by right students need not go to school.... however, some still got to go back & finish up their project work... knn... what is this world turning to... work during holidays... and I am not mentioning the other holiday periods... sigh... are we really wanting the kids to achieve their best... or are we harming them...??? .... hmmm.... anyway, tomorrow can stay at home and do work loh! :)

sigh... stupid SH8 volume & WinDVD cannot startup in battery mode... took me 1 whole day to fix.. now still 1/2-done only... nevermind lah, live with it.... Still love this UMPC! hahaha!!!
