Heng Heng Wanton Noodles and Yuanwei Kaya Toast... At Bedok South Market And Food Centre...

Yeap, the hawker centre opposite Temasek JC... Just want to share 2 stalls which I often frequent when I dine at there...

P.S. This stall has closed down... sigh...

First, Heng Heng Wanton Noodles... A new stall in this food centre, it actually serves a very very good old-school type of wanton noodles!!! There is a long list of options for the type/combinations of sauce to put into the noodles, but actually, you can just tell the stall-owner "Wanton mee, chilli" and he will put in the all-time favourite of (little bit) of black sauce and chilli...

A basic plate of the wanton noodles costs $3, with 2 fried wantons and 2 soup wantons. The plate of fried wantons costs $3 for 14 pieces...

Noodles are springy!!! And the sauce is very fragrance, and not too over-power compared to another similar stall in the food centre... the chilli brings out the old-school, nostalgic taste of the wanton noodles I have in my memory... nice... Char siew is the local red type, which ironically, has to be so to fit in the old-school theme... hahahaha....

The soup is also... "old-school" flavour too, hahaha.... I actually like the soup wanton, quite nice. In fact, this stall's wantons are not wrapped with the traditional (yellow) wanton skin, but the whiter one that is used to wrap some other food (can't remember what it is), so though this minus some marks from the traditional taste, this type of skin offers a better crisp when fried and slight thinner skin with better texture in soup (wantons)...

Ahh... Fried wantons... very nice as a side dish especially when you have family/friends to share this plate... When I went there recently, the stall seller is nice to suggest to change my 2 fried wantons in the plate of wanton noodles to soup wantons as I had also ordered a plate of fried ones... Thanks thanks!

Next is this coffee stall that we always patronize... Yuanwei Kaya Toast serves GREAT kopi-o!!!! Fragrance with strong aroma, and not too watery nor thick... and is quite affordable too... I always take a deep sniff of the aroma of kopi-o before taking a sip... very very addictive, hahaha...

One of my favourite is the Onion Sardine Toast set, which comes with an onion sardine sandwich, 2 half-boiled eggs, and a cup of kopi-o... wait, now looking back at the picture, I think the stall owner might have given me an "up-size" kopi-o ???!!! (yes, I am a regular customer of this stall and he might have recognize me when I bought the meal...)... If so, thanks thanks boss!!!!...

Farewell (soon), "Bedok Interchange" Mac Donald's...
