Bodyguards & Assassins

Caught the movie last night..ad that is one good show!!!! Extremely when compared to the Storm Warriors... Plot is good - It does not just show the day when Sun Yat Sen arrives, but lays the storyline to progress & tells the events leading to how the protection will come, 4 days earlier, day by day...; Acting is good - You compare Nicholas Tse and Simon Yam's acting in this show vs that in the Storm Warriors, man, its completely entirely on a 2 extreme different levels... ; Characters are well defined - you will know and uderstand why they will want to sacrifie to protect Sun Yat Sen... compared to the lousy Storm Warriors whom you don't even know 80% of the haracter if you don't follow the comics... negative points will be the way Leon is protrayed like Stephen CHow in his final part in Kung Fu, I mean, suddenly showing a person who can almost fly and miraculously balance on a small surface... and lousy censorship board's cutting, so choppy... overall, deserves the 4 star ratings many critics in newspapers give...

Storm Warriors (aka Storm Riders II, aka Comedy 300)

Meet up with old bros HZ and ZW last nite to catch the Storm Warriors, aka... read title above... its a complete lousy movie.. maybe only the fighting graphics are still ok... No plot or story-line (unless you have read the comics before), sudden appearance of characters even in beginning of show.. shaky camera where it is supposed to be smooth... female vases, one character who died in the end is even protrayed as idiotic... she rush up the mountain all the way, and naively thought that by speaking to the demonised Wind, she can talk him to return to sane... and stupidly turn her back to the demonised Wind... wah lau... and probably this may have a part 3 (oh no...) as the Heartless just grab the dragon-bone but did not tell what happens in the movie...

Anyway, main part is to meet up with old bros and kopi-chat... and hope this Fri catching the Bodyguards & Assassins will be better...

Lunch Today...

Was on course today in West Coast with cousin... Drove to West Coast Plaza to have lunch... Passed by "Prosperous Kitchen" (天旺) Chinese restaurant, and saw they have a UOB Card 1-for-1 Set-lunch promotion... 2 types, $28.80++ and $38.80++... Chose the latter, because got shark's fin soup! So lunch is sumptuous today...

(Compulsory Appetizer) Braised Peanuts : Warm ones!!! Not the cold cold type!!! nice too...

(Appetizer) Turkey Salad : Salad has nata-de-coco!!! Turkey (duck??) meat not bad too...

Red-wine Sharks fins soup : nice.................................. :) (pic below)

Healthy Fried Rice : Not so saltish, so quite healthy, I guess... hahaha... not too bad, as it is meant to be eaten with the dishes...

Fried Vegetables with Mushroom: Got wok-hei (镬气)!!!! Mushroom is the fresh one, nice....

Scallops with Mint Sauce : Scallop is good!!! must eat together with the green & red lantern pepper & mint sauce! (pic below)

(Dessert) White Fungus Almond Cream : Quite nice & nourishing... the paste is not smooth & can see traces of the almond nuts' skin, so guess it is freshly made, hmmm...

Genting Trip over Long Weekend

Went to my long-awaited trip to Genting the past weekend... Quite cool there... Did not take much pictures this time...

... Breakfast for Day 1... around 5am... the roti canai (prata) is big... so we shared among 5 of us...

Took the Genting Skyway down to Awana.. super long queue especially when return back from Awana.. took 1/2 hr to queue...

My favourite "hobby" there - coffee and toast... It's at the Old Town White Coffee house...

This pic is taken after a buffet dinner... Foggy...

..yes, Christmas is near, so all the Christmas decos are up and coming...

These wall decos are supposedly to represent BIG nails, to "钉死" the casino customers to "contribute" towards the continuation of Genting casinos.. I think it worked well ... hahaha...

Santa Clause!!!!!

Just before the entrance of the casino, they actually doll up the God of Wealth (财神) to be a Santa Clause!!!

... one of the very worth meal taken in Genting... Tenpanyaki set.. For about SGD $8 plus, this is what you get, as seen here!!!!

... "special" present from the trip... yeah, slip a step while boarding down the bus, and sprain my ankle... sigh, spend $25 to see the sin-seh...
