满庭香@Bedok Point...

Had my brunch at 满庭香 at Bedok Point just now... Not too bad.. but the surrounding keeps emitting a weird smell... a smell which I also encounter at my neighborhood Prime supermarket...

I ordered the $8.80 set meal consisting of a main dish (Braised Meat Rice), side dish (Prawn Roll) and a drink (bubble milk tea). I also ordered another side dish of Braised Tau Kwa, not realising that there is already a few pieces of such tau kwa in the braised meat rice... Anyway, tau kwa is one of my favourite, so no harm...

MyKuali Penang White Curry Instant Noodles...

Picked up a pack of MyKuali Penang White Curry Instant Noodles from Sheng Siong supermarket the other day and decided to try it today... Actually did not knew that this instant noodles is whipping up a storm in the instant noodles circle until I check out the internet...

The pack contains 4 packets of the noodles. At $3.80 for 4 small packets, it is considered to be more expensive than the "normal" ones... Initially I did not know why it is called white curry, as the curry looks red... Later then I realized it is the chilli/sambal paste that makes this dish red..

Each small packet contains a "piece" of noodles, 3 packets of seasoning - (from left) non-dairy creamer (???), seasoning powder, chilli (with sambal ?) paste.  The chilli paste smells surprisingly nice, not the typical smell from the instant noodles' paste.....

I made a mistake in using a stove outlet with a small max. flame to cook the noodles, resulting in a slightly musher noodles as it took a longer time to cook thoroughly... This is how it looks like before adding in the chilli paste, hence the "white curry" term, hahaha....

What a difference the chilli paste makes when added in and stirred! Very very fragrance aroma floats around...

Tried the noodles and this is my opinion(my personal taste):
(1) Noodles: Good texture! Surprisingly chewier than expected. Only regret (I think) is that I cooked it slightly longer hence it becomes a little "mushy"... But still the chewiness can still be felt even at the last mouth, nice...
(2) Curry: Nice nice aroma! Really smells like local-style (i.e. not the Indian or Japanese type) of curry... Yes, something like the curry noodles's soup in hawker centre... The creamer did its job to make a slightly "creamy" curry soup... Did not find it to be spicy though.

Seriously, I am amazed by the good taste, aroma and texture (of the noodles) of this instant noodles... No wonder it is rated as No. 1 instant noodles in 1 of the instant noodles ranking website... So is it also my No. 1 instant noodles too?... Well... I believe in eating the type of instant noodles according to what my craving is for that time... hahahaha...
