Today's Brunch at Encik Tan @ Bedok Mall...

And I chose this chicken cutlet Hainanese curry rice today as I had not eaten this for some visits already... Absolutely fantastic! The chicken cutlet is crisp on the outside and tender on the inside, with the seasoning prior to the frying clearly distinguishable. The vegetables is also nice and natural-sweet of it can be tasted. Curry sauce and lor-sauce is good too. Only nitpick will be the rice too soft (perhaps too much water added) and the egg can be a little less cooked to have the runny egg yolk... anyway, well worth the $4.30...

My father had his usual fried fish Hainanese curry rice, as he still feels the piece of fried fresh fish alone is worth the $5... I agree totally...

My mum had wanted to order the fish beehoon soup but was told that the fish was not ready (i.e. not yet fried), so she ordered the laksa, which is also 1 of our favourites there... The laksa broth is superbly good, but she has to reduces the intake of the laksa broth for a healthier diet.. $4 is well worth too!!!

My father and I also had a bowl of the chendol, which I still feel the big red kidney beans are 2 thumbs up... Very happy brunch...

Myojo Ippeichan Yomise No Yakisoba 明星 一平ちゃん夜店の焼そば ( Japanese Style Instant Noodles with Mayonnaise )

This is made in Japan, hence the higher price of about $3.60 (I think) in NTUC Fairprice, which in Japan is selling for about SGD2.20 only... sigh.. but the portion of noodles is bigger than most similar instant cup/bowl noodles, and more vegetables. Taste is good!!!! Noddles are good too!!! Should have added in the packet of powder after stirring the noodles and sauce... Will I buy it again? Probably, but the high price will be the big deterring factor...

Wings Food Mie Sedaap Instant Cup Mi Goreng

Loved this cup noodles, though the quality can be slightly inconsistent... Still, for (normally) 80 cents (i.e. SGD 0.80), it is a quick, cheap and good dry instant noodles to ease the craving for munching... Especially like the big piece of "something-ingredient" inside the vegetable pack... Seem now NTUC and some small mini-marts are also starting to sell this type... nice....

Toy Carnival and Bot Fest 2017 at National Design Centre

Nice event, though it still feels like a flea market, not that I am complaining ... and I only saw 2 cosplayers ( Kamen Rider Kuuga and MMPR Blue), which was much much lesser than what I saw a few years ago when held at SAM... Also did not attend the 3rd party TF panels, as that is not my main purpose of going there... Anyway, saw a young fashion/graphic(??) designer promoting her works with pride and passion, think she is from InkInk Collectibles, and that sort of makes me think whether I am still passionate of my job or not... hmmm... I think I still am, at least till this year, hahahaha... Let the pictures do the talking!!!

A short clip of the event space...

Nong Shim ( China ) : Tempura Udon Flavor Instant Bowl Noodles

If I remember it correctly, this was on a offer price of SGD 2.75 for 2 bowls, in local supermarket NTUC Fairprice... The noodles have a slight 'slime'-like texture (not in a bad way though) to mimic the udon appearance, I think, and they are quite nice in texture... The soup powder packet can empty all the contents as long as you don't drink (too much) of the soup, as it is (surprisingly) not too saltish... Very nice to see big pieces of tempura-ish ingredients and the panda-face fishcake is a nice touch to remind one that you are eating a bowl of instant noodles made in China, thumbs up!

Nissin Cup Noodles (Thailand ) : Tom Yum Shrimp Sabb Flavour

This was bought in a local "ABC" / thrift shop in Changi City Point basement that I frequent a lot. Costs is about SGD 0.70 per cup, quite cheap as it also has ingredients e.g. egg, (tiny) shrimps, vegetables. Taste is quite good, especially on days you know you are hungry but not feel like eating, and the cup noodle's sour soup will open your appetite!

Nissin ( Indonesia ) U.F.O. Bowl Instant Noodles : Japanese Sauce Flavor with Hot Mayo

This seemed to be the cheaper alternative to get "Japanese sauce flavor" instant bowl/cup noodles if not buying the Japan made ones... Cost $2 (promotional price) at NTUC Fair Price... And because I will be eating quite a number of bowl/cup instant noodles, I decide to cut down on the seasoning amount by 1/3 to 1/2 on my future makan-instant-mee sessions... Hahahaha... Anyway, this taste quite good!!! Of course will be good to have proper Yakisoba, but that is out of topic/focus...

And here's a short clip of this "U.F.O"...
